Spend limits and alerts
Stay in charge of what you spend: cap each key, set a budget for your account, and get a warning before you reach either one.
Where can I see all my spending limits at once?
Spend & limits shows what your account has spent this period against any budget, how close each key is to its cap, how your use splits between your own code and connected agents, and your spend alerts.
Each key reads On track, Near cap, Over cap or No cap, and Near cap shows up before its requests start being refused.
How do I cap what one key can spend?
Give the key a Credit limit when you create it on Keys, or press Edit cap on it later, and choose under Reset every whether the cap counts all time or a rolling day, week or month.
Once a key has spent its cap, its requests are refused until older spend leaves its rolling window, or until you raise or clear the cap. A cap that counts all time never frees up on its own.
How do I set a spending budget for my account?
On Credits, under Spend budget, type a Budget amount, choose a Budget period and press Save budget.
A budget warns you as your spend nears it but never refuses a request and never adds credits. Clear budget removes it.
How do I get a warning before I reach a limit?
On Spend & limits, under Spend alerts, set the percentage to warn at for your account budget or for a key with a cap, tick Enabled and press Save alert.
A warning reaches you as a notification, and an alert never stops a request or adds to your balance.
