Children and age requirements
This is what a Nija compliance officer has recorded about children's personal information, market by market: the minimum age a person must declare to hold an account there, and whether an account holder in that market is asked to declare it. It reports what is recorded, which is a different claim from what exists. Nija does not verify anyone's age: no date of birth is collected, no identity document is checked, and a declaration is the account holder's own statement about themselves. Nothing here states that this list of markets is complete, that processing a child's personal information is permitted anywhere, or that anything is in order.
No children's-data policy is recorded for any jurisdiction. That is an absence of a decision, not a statement that no age requirement applies, not a statement that the question has been considered, and not a statement that anything is in order. Because nothing is recorded, no age is asked for at signup and none is enforced anywhere.
If you are a parent or guardian and you believe an account belongs to a child, email privacy@nija.africa and say so. That reaches the same privacy contact as any other question about personal information. It is not a consent route: Nija operates no process for a parent or guardian to authorise a child to use the service, and no such authorisation can be given by writing to that address.
For how Nija handles personal information generally, and the rights you have over it, see the Privacy Policy. The terms you agree to when you open an account are the Terms of Service.
