When something goes wrong

Plain fixes for the common snags: a low balance, a voucher PIN that is refused, or a sign-in code that will not work.

What does Not enough credits mean?

Your balance is too low for that request, so top up on Credits and send it again.

A cheaper model needs fewer credits for the same question; each price is on the Models page.

In the chat there is no need to type the question again: once your balance has gone up, the notice under it offers Retry, and a conversation that ends on a question with no answer offers Retry (↻) beside that question.

Why did the chat say the model used its whole reply limit on thinking?

Some models think before they answer, and on a hard question that thinking can take up all the room one reply has, so the turn ends with nothing written.

The thinking is charged at the same rate as answer text, so that turn still costs what it used. Sending it again to the same model usually ends the same way, so the note offers Pick a model instead of Retry; a model that does not stop to think, or a simpler question, gets you an answer.

What if my voucher says it was already redeemed?

Each voucher works only once, so a PIN that was already redeemed cannot add credits again; check your balance on Credits in case it was yours.

What if my voucher PIN is not valid, expired or no longer valid?

Not valid usually means a digit is wrong, so check the PIN and try again, while an expired or cancelled voucher can no longer be redeemed.

After several wrong PINs, redeeming pauses for a few minutes to protect vouchers, so wait before you try again.

If you believe a voucher was refused by mistake, open a support case, and leave the PIN out of it.

What if my sign-in code does not work?

A code works once, for fifteen minutes and for five tries, so press Resend code and type the newest code you receive.

Wait a minute before you ask again: a second request within the minute sends nothing.

What does This account is suspended mean?

Nija has suspended the account, so its sign-ins, its sessions and its keys are all refused until the suspension is lifted.

Signing in again does not get round it. If you believe it is a mistake, write to hello@nija.africa.
